I brought my WD MY Passport Ultra 2TB back in 18th October. Yesterday I plugged it into my laptop and the disk wont even spin up it just makes a slight wring noise. Is there anyway I can still recover my data or am I completely screwed. I don’t want to pay through the roof to recover my data but its not even a year old yet.
PS on the box it says its the Exclusive Edition and come with a 5 Year limited warranty.
Hi, have you tried connecting the drive with a different USB cable? Have you connected the drive on a different USB port and computer?
In regards of the data, if the hard drive is not being recognized by the computer I believe that the only way that you could get to the data would be through a professional data recovery service.
