My Passport is not being recognized by my MAC

My Passport will not connect to my Mac or appear in finder window. I’ve updated system software… I’ve tried all USB ports… I’ve plugged into other Macs… I’ve even went and purchased new USB cords.

I also used WD Drive Utility to do a diagnostic on the drive, but it found no problems. So the utility was able to identify the drive, but the drive won’t show up in finder.

The light on the Passport flashes and I can hear it running, but it’s not recognized by my Mac.

I’ve got some valuable info on the drive. Please help.

Open Finder Preferences and enable External disks. See if that help.
