Brand new device, purchase from store, using my MacOS 10.14.5 DiskUtility to format the new external hard disk My Passport 5TB to Fat32, failed, if the device only allow the the format to be exfat…how to fix this?? if the device are not allow to format as Fat32, please indicate on the packaging, feel like scam!!!
sounds more like a Software problem than a Hardware problem.
it is possible to format 5TB (and larger) to FAT32 … as long as the software you’re using supports it.
Most utilities that come with Windows or MacOS won’t do it (Windows for example only allows 32GB as FAT32)… and you’ll have to use 3rd Party Software.
