Which generation of My Cloud do you have 1st or 2nd?
will u pl guide me how to check that?
Look at the Dashboard for Firmware 02.xx.xx (2nd generation) or Firmware 04.xx.xx (1st generation)
Current Version WDMyCloud v04.05.00-320 : Core F/W
its 2nd generation
thanks for helping
Have you read the user manual for the My Cloud (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) which explains how to enable FTP on the My Cloud through the My Cloud Dashboard Settings Network section?
Have you setup port forwarding (of port 21) through your network router to the My Cloud to allow Multicloud.com (if it supports it) to FTP data to your My Cloud? See your router.s documentation for more information on how to setup port forwarding for your particular router.
One word of caution. FTP is an insecure method of file transfer. Generally one’s user name and password is sent in the clear and can be intercepted when using FTP.
Also see the Multicloud support forum to see if there is additional information or support on using FTP with Multicloud.
yes i already did the same but its not working
No, it is first generation. V4.x firmware is first generation. V2.x firmware is second generation. Blame WD for the stupid firmware version naming. It has confused many.
Did what? Have you enabled FTP within the My Cloud? Have you enabled port forwarding of port 21 within your router to point to the My Cloud? Have you obtained your broadband IP address (https://whatismyipaddress.com/) and input that into the Multicloud.com FTP settings so it can point to your broadband IP address?
As a troubleshooting step, have you tried to use an FTP client to access the My Cloud? Preferable an FTP client like Filezilla (https://filezilla-project.org/) located offsite or on a mobile device that doesn’t have WiFi access to the same local network as the My Cloud. It is possible your ISP may block inbound port 21 (FTP).
