My cloud setup

Hi there,

New user here trying to set up my mycloud home. I followed the instructions and put the the ethernet to the home network (and see a yellow light at the back) but when I go to My Cloud it redirects to http://wdmycloud/ which says the site can not be reached.

Then I tried via the mobile app and it asks for a device code. So I have had this device for 3 years and have finally decided to set it up (yeah I know). This one does not have a device code at the bottom of the device.

Please help.

If you log into your router, you should be able to see the devices that are connected, and their addresses. There’s a dhcp server on routers that hands out these addresses. See if you can figure out what the IP address of your wdmycloud is from there and then just type it into your web browser url bar.

Hopefully, that gets you connected.
