Ok, I’ve spent quite a bit of time reviewing previous posts but can’t get a clear and current sense of whether the WD My Cloud Home NAS will stream media easily to my Apple TV 4th generation and work as an iTunes server for my music.
From what I’ve read it sounds like this can be done but it requires a lot of workarounds and there are limitations…eg, some things not working on ipads/iphones.
Here’s my situation: I currently stream music and video from my laptop. For video I’m using a Plex server to stream to an Apple TV 4th gen.
Question #1: Can I use the My Cloud Home to do this and are there limitations? I read somewhere that the WD Plex Server will only handle one stream at a time.
Question #2: Can I stream my music files from the My Cloud Home using the itunes Music app on my ipad and iphone without any workarounds?
