My Cloud Home cannot be found

Hi guys!

I have now struggled for the best part of multiple days to find a solution for my problem, so I really hope that you can help…

After a power shortage my My Cloud Home 4TB single bay device could not be found on the network anymore.

I tried looking in the router admin panel and can see that it registers a device connected in the respective lan port of the router, but it doesn’t show up in connected devices nor gets an ip address. Which then means that I cannot connect to it through the my cloud software. The device has a solid white light, and the ethernet port on the back has two green leds flashing. So nothing odd there.

I have tried the 4 sec and 40 sec reset, tried restarting both the device and router in numerous combinations where ethernet cable has been pulled out and inserted both when powered off and powered on vica verca… It still doesn’t change anything … It almost seems like the device has turned off its ethernet connection to the outside world. And since I cannot go in manually, I struggle to find a solution for this.

Any ideas?

Sadly I had the same problem. I sent it back to Amazon. Not the answer but WD support is poor

Did you get a replacement then? And how has that been running?

I have decided to sent mine for replacement too.

I did get a replace which is more stable. However it has stopped automatically backing up my photos. I can drag and drop files onto mycloud home (z) drive but it far from ideal.
