My cloud gen 1 disconnects from network

After reading other posts, I didn’t see a current discussion on this.

I have My Cloud 2TB (Gen 1 firmware v04.05.00-342), in a home network NETGEAR AC1600 router, administered mainly from a Mac Mini 2012 current OS 10.15.5

The My Cloud seems to disconnect and become inaccessible every day or other day, or maybe inaccessible after several days sometimes. I live in a rural area and it’s almost always inaccessible after a power outage. It seems as though the My Cloud and its OS would have protocols built in to recover itself from typical problems, but I’m trying to determine if it has conflicting protocols with the router, or with the Mac or it’s hardware, OS, etc. I have everything setup about as basic as basic can be. I could get a backup battery for the NAS, but really, I don’t think that should have to be necessary.

I’d appreciate any suggestions - thank you in advance!!

If you haven’t done so already, configure the My Cloud for a static or reserved IP address. One can set a static IP address in the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings > Network > Network Services > Network Mode section. Or one can usually reserve an IP address for the My Cloud through one’s local network router’s administration page.
