My Cloud Ex2 Ultra Stopped Allowing Me Access to My Files

I’ve been using the My Cloud Ex2 Ultra NAS for a while now, mainly as a Plex media server. The last few weeks though, I haven’t been able to access the web dashboard (mycloudex2ultra.local/), getting reports, on Chrome, of:

This site can’t be reached
mycloudex2ultra.local’s server IP address could not be found.
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

My mapped network folders no longer work either. I’ve tried to re-add them, but Window stat they don’t exist. This applies using different operating systems and computers. I’ve even tried my phone’s browser, but with the same result.

Rebooting the NAS does nothing. I’ve also tried the 4 second reset.

I know the LAN is connected to my network, since I can access the media to stream perfectly through the Plex app on my console, pc, phone, etc. and can also edit the metadata through the app. I just cant access it any other way.

Any sort of reset that will wipe the drive isn’t an option since I’ll lose too much metadata for me to be able to start again. Will someone please help me?

There is a dedicated subforum for the EX2 series of devices where people more knowledgeable with that device may be able to assist.

Couple of general suggestions. Reserve or assign a static IP address to the EX2 Ultra if you haven’t done so already. Try, if you haven’t done so already, to reach the My Cloud using it’s IP address rather than name. If you have changed network providers or changed the router recently that could in certain rare instances cause problems, one workaround for this rare issue is to put a network switch in between the router and My Cloud device. Also Microsoft may have disabled SMB1.0/CIF in Windows 10 which may additionally cause Windows access problems.
