Can’t install after several day of trying to uninstall older version of the app because a newer version wouldn’t install. I was finally able to remove it with IObit Uninstaller. Great now for the reinstall of the newer version, not so great still won’t install and now I don,t have My Cloud Desktop app at all. Should have left well enough alone but hate for there to be a new version and not have it up to date. Plus my app wasn’t working right. Any one found a solution to this problem? I am running windows 10 home on my pc. I have tried to reinstall all the software from WD for my Cloud everything will reinstall except the My Cloud Desktop App.
Hello there,
What error are you getting when you try to install the desktop app on the computer? Try to run the installer as administrator to see if this helps you out.
ArMark:
I have tried to run as administrator and I have inserted a screen shot of the errors capture is the version and 2 and 3 are the results.

To take a completely different tack…
What are you using the app for?
If it’s purely for accessing your MyCloud within your local network, then, really, it’s not worth the bother; mapping your device into Windows’ file system is by far the better option, allowing all programs (including File Explorer) to treat it like any other directly connected hard disk.
Contrary to what the automated setup and early sections of the manual may suggest, you don’t need to install ANY WD software to setup or use the MyCloud in your local network. Which, given that it’s pretty flaky s/w, is probably a good thing…
Thanks for the input you are 100% correct I can do everything threw my mapped network

@Grover_Bates Do you have the latest updates for Windows 10? If so you should have Version 1511 OS Build 10586.164.
