My Cloud can't be found on the network

My issue is that when all properly set up my network does not recognise the device.

No amount of rebooting, resetting works I constantly get the message

“No WD MY Cloud found”

It must be something pretty simple, it has been working before, it has files on it but ceased to be recognised with the upgrade to Windows 10.

I know there are firmware updates but these are no good when I can’t find the device to get into dashboard etc.

HELP.

From a windows command prompt run the following command:

arp -a

This will show all IP and Mac addresses on your lan.  Then you can check using your mac address of the WD My Cloud.  To see if it is listed.  When you find the mac address you will also know the IP address.  Put this ip address in the browser address bar and see if you connect.

That connects me to my provider

What is your network layout?  Is your My Cloud connected to a router?  On the bottom of the MyCloud is the mac address.  This is the address you need to find in the arp -a output.

My layout is modem connected to the router.  PC and My Cloud connected to router.

Yes, connected to the router.

I have the mac address from the underside of the MyCloud, now what do I do with this?

The mac address is different in the Gateway to the one on the MyCloud

Rac8006,

This is what it was. High fibre network had been installed recently and there was another modem (hidden) and THIS is the modem the MyCloud should have been attached to.

Simple but annoying as I didn’t know there was another router.

Correct the Mac address of the gateway is different than the My Cloud.  Does the mac address of your My cloud show up in the arp -a results?
