Need help with recovering data from My Cloud drive.
Just to give you background - It went into red status last week. I had to restart as even MyCloudLive/dashboard was not reachable. Post restart it went into constant White/light yellow status. I could hear disk, so I kept it switched-on for almost 24 hours. But then status changed to constant red. That’s the time I searched through forum and attempted reset of 4-40 sec. But I fear I might have tried reset of >60 secs once. So I digged through forum more and realised taking disk out is my only option. Though I should have tried root/ssh access, but didn’t go that way.
Now that disk is out and I connected it to surface pro through SATA to USB cable. I thought of using windows application 1st and tried Paragon, EXT2 volume manager without any luck. Drive is still not detected.
So got the Ubuntu bootable and tried that option, but still no luck. From my knowledge and reading though forum, my last option was to run partition recovery, ran DiskInternal partition recovery software. This still doesn’t detect drive or partition, but it shows physical disk without any configuration or anything.
I’m really no expert, but relied on the forum to try out all possible options. Now I’m not sure if I might have formatted drive by mistake or disk is actually damaged.
Can someone help and suggest what are my options?
