For some reason I was unable to install WD Security or WD Utilities and the installs would crash on my MacBook. I contacted support and long story short I figured it out. It fails to install the updated app in the /Applications folder but you can find the .app files in /private/tmp/Western Digital/ after you try to run the installers. Just move the .app files to your apps folder and they should work. WD Discovery never worked but you can use the separate installers for Utilities and Security from WD’s website. I scoured the internet for help and found nothing so I figured I’d put my solution up here in case it saves someone some time and energy.
