Macbook pro stopped reading my WD elements

hi,
my external drive - WD elements worked great with my macbook pro till now.
suddenly it can’t read it. it doesn’t even recognize that it connected.
i have a lot of important work stuff on it…
what can i do?

(also try with another mac and same thing)
