WD Elements 2TB cannot be read

Hi,

I have a 2TB WD Elements external drive formatted fat32. Unfortunately lately it cannot be read by my Macbook 12. I have also tested the drive on a MB Pro and a Windows PC and also on these computers it cannot be read.
The strange thing is that the drive can be accessed by a Minix media player and directly on Samsung TV. So far as I can see on these devices all the data is still there and can be played.

Done so far;

  • Apple disc utillity. Sees the disk cannot mount. Recovery cannot be done.
  • WD utility. Cannot find the disk
  • several disk recovery tools

Please help.

Hi,

Try to locate the drive using DLG, if it’s recognized, test the drive for any errors. DLG is only for Windows.
