Hi all,
I have a 1tb Elements hard drive, I’ve just got a new iMac but it’s not recognising it at all, but its still working fine on my old laptop. I was previously using it from a windows laptop so I’m assuming thats the issue? But how can I fix it? I can’t work out how to get my mac to start seeing the hard drive! Please help! When I was at uni and used my old elements hard drive (sadly thats in the grave yard now) I never had issues going between the iMac and windows laptop?!

Mac OSX might not able to read Windows NTFS format drive. You can open Disk Utility see if it can recognize the drive there. If it does, you will see a partition, see if it mount. If it does, open Finder preferences and put checkmark on “External disks”
Thank you, I’ll try that. If that doesn’t work is the only other option reformatting?
It’s no where to be found in disk utility
