Logitech Media Server - Squeezebox

Hi All,

I’ve just brought my EX2 home and did some entry level setup of a file server and cloud.

Then I installed Logitech Media Server hoping for some streaming capabilities.

I’m using my PS3 as a receiver/renderer. At the beginning, when the LMS had only one folder configured, it was very reliably visible and accessible by the PS3. Though, after adding a few more folders to the configuration, the LMS stopped being visible for the PS3 and I can’t make it anyhow since then.

My network is mega-simple: just ADSL modem/router/wifi which does everything. EX2 has been connected through eth wilst PS3 through WiFi (connecting the PS3 using eth doesn’t change a thing).

At the same time my ordinary home computer (connected by WiFi) runs SoftSqueez, works perfectly with the LMS??? :frowning:

Along all that I run PS3 Media Server (on my ordinary comupter) which is perfectly visible and accessible by PS3.

Any ideas anybody?

Regards,

RadoVal

I haven’t tried this app but any particular reason you chose not to use the built-in media serving feature (using DLNA server Twonky) for mp3 and went with this instead?? I access my media from my PS3 DLNA client using the built-in Twonky DLNA server just fine.

Sorry for long no-talk.

I’ve been away :frowning:

Thanks for a response.

First reason for trying Squeeze was that I’ve been looking for standalone replacement for the PS3 Media Server.

Second - I simply didn’t know the Twonky is there. Now I do  Tried  it works !!!

Anyway, I resolved the original issue. It was my router not capable to reconfigure its routing table when switching between PS3 eth port and WiFi port. The DHCP was unfortunatelly givin them two different IP-s and the switching was gone.

It was sufficient to reboot the router

N.B. Squeezebox is nowhere close to PS3 Media Server so PS3MS it is (still).
