Local Access enablement when MyCloud Services Down?

Probably your home duo failed to update to the most recent version just like mine did

It took a few Minute and then I was able to enter local username and pascode. Then it worked proper.

I am trying to set up Local Access on Windows 11 to MyCloud Home Duo

In the instructions given (Instructions to Enable Local Network Access on a My Cloud Home, My Cloud Home Duo and SanDisk ibi) it says in step 11: Access the device on the local network using Samba (SMB) on Windows or macOS.

Do I need to install a product called ‘Samba’ as I am not sure what this means ?

A second problem I have with trying to set up Local Access on Windows 11 to MyCloud Home Duo is that I cannot see the device in Windows Explorer (under Network). I can see other devices including my printers etc as shown in the screenshot

Currently the device is connected to a network switch which is connected to a Wifi Hub which connects to my Windows Desktop.

Do I need to connect my Desktop directly to the Duo device with Ethernet ?

Finding the device within Network has been resolved either with time or by me powering down the MCH Duo device or by restarting my Windows 11 Desktop or a combination of the above

anyone got an idea? I mean I’am still stuck :slightly_frowning_face: slow breathing by the box, hard reset didn’t help… I still cannot get to the dashboard, neither using the IP address nor the host name.

Hi there. Same situation, we have to wait for a method to manually update the cloud’s firmware so we can use the local access feature.

Na de instructies ‘Enable Local Network Access’ meerdere malen nauwkeurig gevolgd te hebben en harde resets van de MyCloud Home box, nog steeds geen toegang tot het lokale netwerk.

Graag de oplossing gevraagd om op de schijf te kunnen komen.

did it work for you yet? For me it is the same situation as before. Slow breathing, information that an firmware update has been found and that’s it… Same slow breathing for like 6 hours now.

4 days and still the same problem. IT IS A JOKE… WD is the worst tech company that I ever crossed, I mean it. Words cant describe what I feel :slight_smile:
