I’m running the latest firmware (WDMyCloud v04.01.00-408 : Core F/W) on my 4TB. iTunes is up to date and can see my cloud in the dropdown option, next to the music icon/button.
However, if I click on my cloud it shows "Loading “cloud …” but cannot find my library and jumps back to my pc’s library.
I’ve set up a new ‘movies’ share/folder on My Cloud and enabled the Media Serving option as well as Public Access; this is where my media resides. Does iTunes only recognise files inside the Public directory or what am I missing?
If you have copied music to the /Public/Shared Music folder or a video to /Public/Shared Videos, and it is in a
format supported by iTunes, it should be listed in the right pane.
For more information please refer to page 105 of the User’s Manual:
Ok, I;ve been through the manual and on page 100 it says “iTunes scans any shares that have the Media Serving setting enabled, including the Public share by default”. This is what I’ve tried:
Copied a mp3 file to /Public/Shared Music
Copied the same mp3 to /Public/Shared Pictures
Copied the same mp3 to /Public/Shared Video
Copied the same mp3 to /Movies
All these directories have Media Serving and Public Access on and according the manual, mp3 is definitately a format that iTunes recognise.
On page 101 it mentions "Note: ITunes 10.4 or later only supports music files. " . Does that mean I can’t play video through iTunes?
All I’m trying to do is access my media on My Cloud via an iTunes on a server and stream it to my Apple TV.
