If you needed support for additional apps then you bought the WRONG device if you bought a single bay My Cloud. Currently the single bay units running v2.x firmware do not officially support third party apps like the more expensive My Cloud units do.
If one uses the forum search (magnifying glass icon upper right) one will find numerous threads for installing unofficial, non WD supported, apps for the older version/generation v3.x/v4/x firmware single bay My My Clouds. For the newer generation v2.x firmware My Cloud’s one can see the following thread that discusses on possible way (that apparently still has problems) of unofficially installing additional apps.

The lack of a shutdown button in the newer generation v2.x firmware version My Clouds, even though its mentioned several times in the v2.x My Cloud User Manual, has been well discussed. There are several workarounds including using SSH to issue the shutdown command via: /usr/sbin/shutdown.sh
. Other options include installing the WD Access program (available from the WD Support/Download site: http://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx). Or one can, through their web browser, change the page coding to enable the Shut Down button in the My Cloud Dashboard. Here are a few threads that discuss the lack of a shutdown and workarounds in the v2.x firmware:
