I tried to play a mp4 larger than 2G, it’s not working and showing “Unable to play back this media file”. I tried a smaller one, around 700MB, and it’s working. I am using the My Cloud app on iPad to play.

Are you doing this within the same network or remotely? If is remotely, please note that the file might take some time to play since the app will need to load the file.
I am doing this in the same network. In my home. I found that using the native WD My cloud app is not able to play 2G+ video. I tried another mobile app, moliplayer, it’s working. So I think maybe it’s because the My Cloud App from Western Digital is not able to play 2G+ video file.
