Ok I really can’t get my head around this and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and solved it. I have a My Book World edition 2 and I had copied all my iPhotos from my mac over to the new drive. I reselected the Library location for iPhotos and it seems to have relink all the information ok. But I can’t view a single image, all my events and all my groups all there and the number of photos within the group is right. But every photo is a black square. So does anyone know why and how to fix this
Also, are you sure that the permissions transferred correctly to the drive. You could also try copying a single document file to that folder and see if you can read that. Just to test whether the file system isn’t corrupted.
I have exactly the same issue. No miniature pictures in events, photo’s, albums whatsoever. If you click on the greyed out area the photo seems to be there… Moreover it’s incredibly slow. iTunes on my iMac, MacBook works flawlessly though. I would recommend that WD sorts this out with Apple on an R&D level as the MyBook box clearly states: OSX and Mac compatible. It does not say: Only iTunes compatible and not suitable for iPhoto. I am certainly not the only Mac Fan with iPhoto that wants to move to NAS…
