I had a WD MY CLOUD that died recently. prior to that my 3 IP webcams wrote data directly to the NAS. easy setup and worked well. I bought a new MY CLOUD HOME but now cannot get it to work. i tried simply updating the IP address to the new MCH and updated the username/password - but no luck.
with such a limited dashboard control i cant see how to check basics like allowing FTP.
the mounted drives in WinExplorer show as “read only” altho i can create files on my PC and save to the folders so that doesnt appear to be the issue…
any ideas?
@dzinkin You need to post your topic here, for My Cloud Home.
I doubt if you are going to be able to do the same thing on a My Cloud Home that you were able to on a WD My Cloud.
OK. thanks. have posted there. its ridiculous that the new version of the product doesnt do the basics of what the old product did.
The My Cloud Home is not a “new version” of the older single bay/single drive My Cloud device. It is a separate product with different features (and limitations), as you found out. More than a few people have discovered that the Home line is not the same as the My Cloud line to their dismay based on the posts in this subforum and the dedicated My Cloud Home subforum.
