Ios My Cloud Photo Backup

Hi Folks

Been happily using the auto backup feature for my iPhone photo roll. As I was running out of storage space on my iPhone, I decided to delete most of my photo roll, assuming that all the photos were safely backed up on my NAS. However I discovered, to my horror, all my photos also disappeared from my NAS backup folder!! Is this normal behavior for the auto backup function or is something going wrong?

I’m using an iPhone 6s with the latest ios 11.2

Many Thanks for your help.
Richard

Hi richardkhill,

No, this is not the normal behavior of the auto backup, if you delete photos from the camera roll it should not get deleted from the backup folder.

I think you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.

Thanks Alex, I’ve contacted Tech Support.

Richard, the app creates a default backup folder. Presumably you found it on the NAS, did you ever see any photos in it as you were backing up?
