I can't get my PC windows 7 to recognize my mycloud device

I’ve done everything suggested, spent 2 hours and still my pc doens not recognize my mycloud device. There must be some common mis-step I’m experiencing. I’m cnnected to the LAN on the router, my cables are connected and still nothing. Any ideas?

Have you set everything up in the Dashboard and made sure they both are in the same Workgroup?

If that is set up my next recommendation is to shut down all your devices and then restart them with the router being last.

If that does not work do you have network discovery on?

John, I am in the same boat as you. I had to use the network mapping feature within windows control panel to get access to the My Cloud Device, but it let you access only the public folders; so you cannot get to the My Cloud dashboard setup that way , either; but you can at least copy files to the device.
