I have the WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra, I’d like to have remote acces to it since it will be placed in a different network. The best way to do this to me seems to host a VPN server. I cant find anything about this topic, just how to setup clients.

i see it’s been a while, but i wanted to ask smth. Has anyone tried setting up a vpn connection using wireguard on their my cloud recently???
BTW I got around the same issue by setting up the VPN on a separate device running bare metal server hosting. That way, I didn’t mess with the NAS directly, and it gave me more control over the configuration. I forwarded the right ports on my router—worked fine without touching the firmware.
