I’m new to “My Cloud Home Duo”
so forgive me if I ask something trivial…
but I do have a question that seems rather important to me!
How do I retrieve a deleted file/folder when accidently deleted it and it synced?
If I understand correctly: when deleting a folder on “My Cloud Home Duo”
this will be synced and also deleted on my computer (and vice versa)
Is there a way to retrieve the deleted data?
When I search online, I keep being sent to these kind of solutions: Error
But I do not find these settings in “My Cloud Home Duo” …
Can anyone point me in the right direction please
to reassure me?
How do I retrieve a deleted file/folder when accidentally deleted it and it synced?
Is there a way to retrieve the deleted data?
Once the data is deleted from the sync folder, it cannot be retrieved
The KBA article referenced is for WD Sync that works with My Cloud products and not My Cloud Home
Woaw… this wasn’t the answer I expected…
How dangerous is that?!?
Even a simple windows-OS makes it posible to retrieve files if you accidentely delete them…
(a recycle bin maybe? Too much to ask WD?)
This means I need another backup system to be on the safe side?!?
**Isn’t it posible to make the software (of the “My Cloud” products) ** available on the “My Cloud Home”???
I am tempted to write (copy paste) a review about this
on every site I consulted to buy this product to warn people about this issue…
Sync is just that…SYNC and not a backup of the file.
If you delete a file from a sync folder, the delete is sync’d to the My Cloud Home and the file is deleted.
Did you not have a backup of the source data? Sync is not a backup because there’s no copy of the file.
Just as I recover data from water damaged iPhone using an iPhone data recovery software, you can also apply a computer data recovery program to retrieve your deleted file/folder.
