We had to remove our contract IT person due to hostile behaviour, one of which he was not willing to share user names and passwords to the owner of the business, particularly as a means of backup should something happen to him. His comment was that he “owned” this information and the company would have to pay for it.
Enter me, I have managed to replace most of his usernames and passwords with one major exception. After doing a light reset on the 2 NAS drives, I was able to gain admin control and immediately disabled cloud access. When I attempt to turn it back on, it states that we have signed out of our cloud dashboard account. Unfortunately it uses the former contract employee’s email and password. Is there any way for me to regain control of the cloud access if he does not willing share the login requirements without doing a larger reset of the NAS?
Hi @rickcloutier,
Have you opened a Support Case? If not opened, for more information, please contact the WD Technical Support team for the best assistance and troubleshooting:

I was stunned by your affiliation. I’m happy to see a particularly subject.
Yes, the initial response was to try and obtain the username and password from the former IT person. His response was that it was his personal email and password and that he would not share it. He further stated that it would be best to start over with the 2 drives and reconnect all of the users.
Hello,
I did contact WD and opened a case. The suggestion was to contact the former IT person and ask for the username and password. His response was:
With regards to my WD account, it will be impossible to provide you with the password as it is my personal account and I have used it for multiple customers including for my own equipment. Therefore, I would recommend you set up your own account for Trochu Motors and then add your devices as required.
Is he saying to do the 40 second reset on the 2 NAS drives and then reconnect all of the users and the connection to the cloud as though it were a first time set up or is he saying that we can set up a new cloud account and tunnel in that way?
