How do I unlock the MyCloud Desktop App?

I am trying to copy a large amount of data to my 4TB MyCloud. Every time that I try to do it, I get the spinning wheel with the “Preparing” message. Then, after 5 minutes it freezes with the message “MyCloud desktop app is currently locked” asking for my password. Entering the password takes it back to “Preparing” for another 5 minutes until the app is locked message comes back.
I’m copying a large (400GB) directory of information and don’t want to sit here waiting for it to Prepare - re-entering my password every 5 minutes. I’m copying to a public directory. I’ve clicked the lock icon on the upper right corner of the app window, but this only allows me to lock the app - can’t find an unlock function. How do i permanently unlock the app?

Are you using the My Cloud Desktop program to access a remote My Cloud or a My Cloud on the same local network as the computer? For local network connections one does not need to use any WD software, like the My Cloud Desktop program. One can use Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer to access a My Cloud device on the local network.

Can you post a screen capture of the error message you are seeing? It is possible your computer may be generating the message possibly due to time out issues not the My Cloud Desktop program.
