Help needed ASAP with EX2 ULTRA

Hi everyone,

I am really at my wits end so I’m hoping someone could help me out as WD are closed for the weekend.

I’ve just upgraded from my cloud to the EX2 ULTRA, I was assuming the process of creating an cloud account was the same as the my cloud process but its just not happening

I have managed to create an account from the wee leaflet that comes with the drive you need to go my cloud.com/setup I have went through that process & then it says you can reset the drive login into the settings or see my files I wanted to go to the dashboard so I click the settings button,

However it then takes me to a separate login page asking me for a username & password (I assumed it was the same as I previously set up however it won’t let me login it keeps saying its the wrong details

I am completely lost I have tried resetting the cloud with a paper clip to maybe reset the settings somehow but no joy

I can login into the WB website to view files etc but have no access to the WD dashboard on top of that when I try to Map the drive it again asks me for login details & again it says they are wrong ’ I have even tried to reset my main password which WD has sent me to reset which I did still no joy it’s like there are two separate logins & I am missing one

I do apologise if a lot of this is doesn’t make sense & is all over the place, I am typing it on a dodgy tablet

Basically WD is asking me for a username & password to login into the switchboard as well as mapping & the details are incorrect however there is no way to reset or change anything

Any ideas?

the password that you have for wdmycloud.com is different than the one for the dashboard, try to reset the device by pressing the reset button on the back of it for 3 to 5 seconds, please check this link for more help:

Thanks for your advice. I have tried this many times with resetting the cloud. It flashes a blue light for about 5 mins & starts up again, however as soon as you try to access the dashboard it asks for a username & password. I’ve tried just admin no password & it says it’s wrong. Any other advice as I am so annoyed that there aren’t clear instructions on what to do from WD’s end, I have paid £250 for what was supposed to be a good upgrade to it being next to useless.

I am not having ago at you btw it’s just pure fustartion.

If on Windows

  • click My Computer
  • click Network
  • click into MyCloudEX2Ultra

Notice the name of the share?
That’s your “device username” so you should be able to login with that “device username” with no password.

I have finally got things working. Thanks so much for all your help. I know there is an in depth instruction manual to download but you’d think that WD would
Include basic instructions on how to fix this issue. I had to eventually do a proper reset as the username didn’t turn out to be the drive name God knows what it originally was as admin never worked the first time.

It’s all been sorted now though. Thanks once again.
