Dear Sir,

I want to login to the WD My Cloud EX2 but i don’t know user name and password.

Could you please tell me what is the Username and password?

Hi elida, welcome to the WD Community. Out of the box the EX2 will have the “admin” user name, you can leave the Password empty, check page 51 of the manual for more information on this. If you forgot your password you can press the reset button on the back for 4 second to restore it back to factory default.

I have done the 5 second reset and used admin as username.  I have left password blank.  It does not login to my dashboard.  It keeps telling me my credentials are incorrect.

Please help.  I do not want to reset completely to factory defauls because I am concerned of losing data.

I have the right IP address, I have verified it from my router.

I have access to all my files both locally and remotely.

The only issue I have is I cannot login to the dashboard.  I have done the 5 sec reset.  I use admin as the username and leave password blank.  I have also tried using the previous username versus admin and leaving password blank.  Still no access.

I do not want to do the 40sec reset for fear of losing the data. Perhaps you can convince I will not lose access to the data.

The original post is from February, and several firmware revisions have been released since then.

Are you also using a WD My Cloud EX2? Which firmware revision do you currently use? When did this issue start to happen?

Since posting this, I talked to the tech support people.  They are sending a different unit to me.  Thanks for your help.
