G-RAID Studio 12TB Noise & Buzz when Mac is off

Hey all,

The product is producing a fairly audible buzz when is plugged to the mains and irrespectively if the computer is off or on. I am almost certain that I can hear the power supply cooling fan spinning when the Mac as well. Again, it doesn’t matter if the Mac is off and the thunderbolt cable is disconnected. The noise is still there. When the computer launches, the HD fans kick in and they just mask that noise.

Do these imply a problem with the unit’s power supply? I haven’t heard any of my previous RAID drives making such a noise.

Any advice??

Hi, I have the same issue with an 8TB TB3 G-RAID. The electronic noise from both the unit and the power supply is insane. Did you ever make any progress on this?

Any updates on this? The power supply for my G-RAID makes a lot of electronic whining noise. This is being amplified by the G-RAID itself. It is particularly noticeable when the drives are idle or asleep. Is there a bad batch of power supplies going around?
