Frustrated Long Delayed Delivery and Customer Service

I placed an order on the WD website on August 1st. I originally thought the item would ship from a Canadian warehouse, so it would be soon Though the website showed an estimated delivery time of 5–9 business days at checkout.
However, the package has been held at Canadian customs since August 5th. I contacted WD support on August 13th and again on August 18th. Each time, they only said they would “forward the issue to the concerned team to handle the customs clearance.” But today marks the 20th day since I placed the order, and nothing has moved forward.
This whole experience has wasted a lot of my time and effort, and I still don’t have my order. I trusted WD to deliver efficiently, but the service has been unhelpful and my time is being wasted.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with WD orders stuck at customs? How did you get it resolved?

AFAIK disks are made in Thailand. So it may take some time for shipping.

Thanks for your information. The package has already been shipped, but it’s stuck at Canadian customs for more than 2 weeks. At this point it needs WD to cooperate with UPS to complete the customs clearance.

If your WD order’s stuck at customs, the best move is to call WD Sales Support (not just tech support) and ask them to push it up to their logistics or shipping team. At the same time, check with the carrier—UPS, FedEx, DHL—to see if customs is waiting on paperwork or a duty payment. Keep a record of who you talk to and when, so you’ve got backup if you need to escalate. And if nothing changes after that, go ahead and request a refund or cancel through WD, or dispute the charge with your credit card. Usually, once WD’s logistics team and the carrier’s customs broker get involved, things start moving a lot quicker.
