Hi, Have ordered 2x 14TB WD gold Enterprise on WD website, 5 wks ago… should have been a fast delivery (Europe), but sadly mstill shows order being prepared, no way to communicate on the account… just say backorder, order delayed now…. but at the time of purchase was showing as stock available… I am frustrated, I am without disk space and purchased these new to replace my raid… there is no planned date or something that allow me to forecast when I can receive them… and I already paid… this is no way to treat customers, I purchased directly to ensure proper packing instead of taking risk with amazon packing… but these delay never happened to me in Amazon… if there is stock, is super fast…WD on the other way, is being a pain, not a single email alerting or explaining what is going on with my order…
I suggest calling WD and see if they are back ordered or there is another issue.

WD orders can get stuck in a “prepared” state when inventory is actually tied to regional warehouses, not the web stock you saw. At this point I’d call WD support directly instead of relying on the account page, ask them to confirm actual allocation not “availability,” and push for either a firm ship date or cancellation. If they can’t give you that, cancel and reorder from a reputable EU reseller with confirmed stock even if it costs a bit more. Also check your payment method because sometimes it’s just a preauth hold and you’re not fully charged yet, which makes canceling easier. Worst case, if they stall, you’re within your rights in the EU to dispute the charge due to indefinite delay.
