i’ve formated the entire drive thinking the wireless pro software was hardcoded in the unit itself, in the chips, however that seems to be a wrong theory.
is there a link to re download the files needed to make this wireless pro work again?

The Wi-Fi function of the drive is not Software stored on the internal hard drive … it’s built-in to the Hardware / Firmware.
I have a My Passport Wireless (not Pro) … formatted it many times without any issues or losing the Wi-Fi Networking capabilities
My Passport Wireless Pro User Manual also says it’s ok to format it … Page 52
I would recommend you try doing a full Factory Reset (System & Disk) if you’ve messed something up. Page 44 of User Manual
