After formatting, my Passport Wireless doesn't work well

Hi.

I formatted my WD Passport Wireless and it deleted every single thing inside it. Now I can only access it through My PC like any simple memory drive but the WiFi doesn’t work and I cannot access it with any software. I think it maybe because I deleted all pre-installed files as well. I tried to install firmware with the updater but it is not recognizing it even though my computer does recognize the hardware. Please help.

Formatting just the hard drive would not effect the operating system on the Passport Wireless. If you did a full restore of the Passport, it would reformat the hard drive and reset the operating system back to factory default so any Wifi settings would also reset to the default settings. Check your list of available WiFi connections and see if you can find the default “My Passport” connection.
