I have a WD MyCloud that is no longer supported for online access. I did setup the “disable remote access” before the deadline. I am now trying to access it. It wasn’t showing up on the network so I did the 40 second reset. I can now see the cycloid on the network and can access all but one folder. It’s asking for a login, I don’t remember it. Can I change the password? I am currently accessing it directly through a LAN cable connected to the MyCloud and the PC so the dashboard is gone. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
I moved it to another PC and only get the dashboard when I click on the MyCloud in the network I get two different screens. If I click on it from media Devices in files, it goes to Twonky Server, which seems to be useless. If I click on it from Storage in Network list, it goes to the WD dashboard. I can verify that the password is off for the second user. However, now when moving it back to the first PC or even to the modem/router all I get is the dashboard. How do I actually access the files?
If your using windows try \\WDMYCLOUD and if you have shares try \\WDMYCLOUD\share name. This should work with it connected to the router and showing on your network.
That worked to access the files, but it’s showing the user I was trying to get to as blank… with no safe points so I guess it is what it is. Thanks for your help!
