I’ve been happily using my WD MyCloud for a few months, I normally connect to it using Windows (7) Explorer and have mapped my personal share to a drive letter so all appears to be working as it should - I can see the mapped drive and can access all the shares where the MyCloud appears under ‘network’.
However, I just tried to connect to my share on a spare computer on the same network and I can’t log into it. I then tried logging into the dashboard from my main computer, I see the login page as usual but it won’t take any of the passwords I’ve tried.
I know the username is correct as my computer defaulted to it, and I had even made a note of the password as I have an awful memory but nothing works. I have no recollection of re-mapping the share so I’m sure I haven’t changed the password and if I did I would have updated my note. I then tried logging in with my wife’s and the admin accounts and neither of those work either so I’m stuck.
I thought about rebooting the MyCloud but I can’t access the dashboard to do it “nicely” and pulling the power plug is more of a last resort, although I know it’s relatively OK to do.
I still have access to it in Windows Explorer so at worst case I can back it all up and start again but it’s bothering me that I can’t log in.
Could this be a problem at WD, given that I can access it locally but can’t log into the dashboard? Although that doesn’t explain why I couldn’t connect to it via the spare computer or that the Android app is still working.
Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome!
