First Start up password

Hi,

I just got the WD PR4100 and cant log in upon initial Start up.

I get the login screen and user id is filled as admin password is empty.

No matter what i fill up in the password box i get the same response. incorrect credentials…

firmware ver. 5.17.107

is there a way of logging in?

I would like to know the same thing. I don’t like having to go online to see my files

The default password is blank; just click the login button, and you’ll be prompted to create a password

This does NOT work, I get the response

  • incorrect credential

It SHOULD work.

I think you need to do either a 4 second or 40 second reset. (Do a search on the WD support webpage)

Thank you, after the 40s reset when connecting to the NAS i did get the chance to make my own password.

That doesn’t work for me. It won’t connect with a blank password. I have tried everything I can and nothing works. In November, when I started using it, it looked like any other hard drive. But then suddenly it started requiring a log in. I’m completely stuck at what I am able to do. I have no choice to go online to get to my files. But then I am downloading everytime I need one. Very aggravating.
