When is the next new Firmware coming out, its been a while now and what will be in it new updates or a lot of bugs fixers

Nobody can tell.
As long as the SMP is unable to play 1080p@23.98fps/24fps MKV files without buggy network exhaustion and frame drops it is essentially a broken HD player, or a “HD Ready” player, if you will.
As far as I know WD haven’t given any indication whether they are planning to fix this or not. So their customers are once again stuck in limbo. Should we wait for a fix? Or should we conclude that WD are busy working on the next generation bug-box and just throw the SMP into the pile of failed and ill designed electronics products, and look for a proper player elsewhere?
I just don’t understand the logic of going to all the trouble of making a 99% perfect product and deciding to leave it at that. It is like running a whole marathon and deciding to quit an inch from the finishing line. It doesn’t make sense.

True there they don’t seen to be interested anymore. 
Well, beta firmware has reached 1.07.14. so yes, work is being done.
does anyone know if it possible to sign up for beta firmware testing?
just lets hope they are fixing up a lot bugs from the older vesion
I can’t wait for the next firmware release. I’ve been bored encountering lots of bugs with this product.
