is there still No firmware update that allows Netflix etc in the netherlands for WD TV, which I bought
new in 2015 .???
nope ⊠and most likely never will be
want Netflix ? buy a device that supports it 
Sorry but I donât understand why WD donât release a new firmware for WD TV, Here in Italy now we have Netflix but WD TV doesnât support yet !!!

And if WD stopped supporting Netflix on this âlatestâ device, most probably means theyâre not supporting / updating the older devices either.
To include Netflix in devices like the WDTV requires the device maker to put a pricy licensed chip in the player that prevents copying Netflix stream from the device.
I am sure WD looked at all the newer TVs with built in Netflix and decided not to put it into their devices anymore.
My TV is a 2010 Panasonic that did not have the chip, the next yearâs model did, so it had built-in Netflix. All along I had a Roku that played Netflix, so I was never affected by any of this chip stuff, and subsequently never used the Netflix feature of the WDTV other than to see how well it worked (the Roku did better, BTW.)
