ERROR: "Attach a Western Digital drive to launch the program"!

Acronis True Image WD Edition (16.0.0.5962) will not run for me. It reports:

“Attach a Western Digital drive to launch the program”.

But I have 2 WD drives installed!
WD5000AAKS-75V0A0 (internal)
WDBUZG0010BBK (external USB)

So what’s going on here? :confounded:

I was going to upgrade to Acronis 2015 but I’m concerned that it might not be allowed to upgrade from this WD Edition that doesn’t work properly.

I fixed this problem myself. :slight_smile:

The uninstaller didn’t work - another error message and a rollback.  :(

The repair option didn’t work either. :frowning:

So I found and hard deleted every folder on the hard drive that had Acronis in the name.  I stopped short of deleting all the keys in the Windows registry.

I was then able to uninstall it and re-install it.

This time it detected the WD drives and is now working.

But what a faff.
