Dx4000 ... 'loading OS please wait'

I am literally about to have a melt down from the piece of hardware. I have had nothing but trouble since I’ve had this product and I’m not sure I’m even going to get anywhere by posting here.

‘loading OS please wait’ … My DX4000 sentinel server worked well for period until I stupidly decided to upgrade my windows PC from win7 to windows 10. As soon as the software completed installing ‘loading OS please wait’ presented itself and the server
fan would ran all the time like it was trying to cool down on a hot day (safe mode??)
Now I could still access my files on my server but both wd media player live’s have stopped recognizing the server and I can no longer access the server from the web or the dashboard…

I’ve since given up and reinstalled windows 7 as I found out the server had compatibility issues with 10… Hoping that things would return to normal they haven’t and now my PC will not recognize the server for me to download the dashboard software… GET ME A HAMMER!!!

Can I restore this equipment to factory on the server ( like i just pulled it out of the box brand new) if i can not communicate to it through my PC???

Is there a procedure with the reset button on the back of the server?

I am in the dictionary under ‘illiterate’ when it comes to IT so please dumb it down.

Hello,

As a recommendation, contact wd support for direct assistance on this case. They will be able to help you performing the factory restore.

Also, you can see page 56 of the user manual.

I would try to remote to the server desktop
from a client tap the windows key and then type mstsc and press enter
servername is whatever
username is administrator
password is the one you use when joining a client

at the server desktop, tap the windows key and type services.msc
scroll down to the wd services and see if they are started
