Somehow my entire Shared Music folder got copied to a different folder on my WD My Cloud. I deleted the folder but there were a lot of files that I didn’t have permission to delete. It literally says that I need permission form “nobody” to make changes to these files.
I’ve tried rebooting my computer, rebooting the drive, deleting from different computers, various force delete tools, compressing the files with the option enabled to delete the original files, etc.
How do I easily delete these files? Is there a free force delete tool that works on the My Cloud drive?
You may need to access the My Cloud using SSH with a SSH client program like WinSCP or Putty and either; delete the file/folder, or you can change the permissions or ownership of the files/folder so you can delete them using Windows File Explorer/Mac Finder.

Thanks, WinSCP worked!
So it is 2023 and we are still having this problem! I reformated my 1 T several times when I set it up to get past this. I have folders repeated numerous times because I have to make a copy to get around it. I returned a larger passport several years ago because I could not overcome this and the WD response was “we never heard of this” Just google it. Now I’m still dealing with it as I try to clean my 1 T off to stop using it because I’m concerned about data integrity. Random folders won’t allow me to rename, delete or anything. What a waste, and what is sad, the part that works I LOVE. But I am not risking my data. and the ariticle that says how to change permissions doesn’t work, messing with editing the register or whatever is talked about in this reply, are way beyond what I’m willing to risk.
