Does PR4100 support SFTP? Does it good model?

Good day.
I’m considering buying a WD PR4100 NAS box, but I have several questions:

• does this device support SFTP (SSH FTP) functionality? I’ m mean is it possible to setup SFTP server on this NAS and configure access for remote users using SFTP?
• there are a lot of posts like " PR4100 Brick" or “Having problems with PR4100”
  PR4100 bug in firmware, shows temperature 4600 degree and shut down
  PR4100 Brick! Power light flashing blue, 4 second and 40 second reset does not work, Arrow up and down buttons not working

So my question - is everything OK with this model? I’ d like to know owner’ s option about this NAS.

A. Yes SFTP works, but only for root user.
B. 4600 degree dude puts unsupported disks in enclosure… firmware doesn’t like it. Dude is unhappy.
The other guy never answered so probably all is fine now.

It is not officially supported to do this over SFTP… you’d need to stick to the MyCloud functions here.

But you could (at your own risk) edit the SSH daemon config to look like this

nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Port 22
Protocol 2
HostKey /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
SyslogFacility AUTHPRIV
# you need to decide wether you want root/sshd here
AllowUsers admin userA userB
PermitRootLogin no
PubkeyAuthentication yes
PasswordAuthentication yes
ChallengeResponseAuthentication no
TCPKeepAlive yes
# remove deprecated stuff
#PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes +ssh-dss
#HostKeyAlgorithms +ssh-dss
#Ciphers +blowfish-cbc
MaxAuthTries 5
Subsystem sftp /usr/bin/sftp-server

Then reload the ssh config

kill -HUP $(pidof sshd)

You’ll get kicked out of the session. Reconnect and you new config is active.
You can now login as admin, userA or userB.
