Diagnostics stuck at 90%

Last night my drive was not responding and lost connection (again!!) and so I powered off and then powered back up. Once things appeared to have settled down I ran the diagnostics, first the quick test which was stuck on 90% for about 45 mins, so I rebooted the device and tried the extended test. It has now been almost 12 hours and it is at 90%, I have no idea why it won’t get past this point when it used to.

I really don’t want to do a complete reset of the device!

I spoke to the shop we purchased this from yesterday and they have agreed to take it back. Unfortunately the timing is very unfortunate as our PC is in for repair and all of my files are backed up to this device.

I keep hanging on thinking things will improve with this device, but it vever does and it’s one problem after another with numerous calles to technical support.

For information the device has now decided to complete the diagnostics. I had to cancel the last one as over 12h ours had past with it stuck on 90%, I had a quick test and it worked, then the full one completed in about 4 hours.

But as I said, until next time - this all stemmed from the device loosing connection and there was nothing I could do apart from power down.

Full test will finish, just don’t know how long it will take. I tried once before, it might took more than a day, anyway it finished finally.
