Dashboard shares not there!

I go to the dashboard and it shows me the users, but I can’t find the folders!!! What am I doing wrong?

What make and type of device are you using? Are you able to provide an image of what you are seeing? What do you see when you click on the Shares tab?

Have you read through the User Manual, http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/UM/ENG/4779-705103.pdf ?

I have the WD My Cloud 2TB. The first day I got it, I whipped it into shape. Adding 5 users (I am extremely Techno savvy) I have already been through the manual so I am very familiar on how to use this device. My issue is that now I am trying to look at my folders. I have added 74gb of video and about 54gb of pictures. I physically addfiles from my pc, but decided I didn’t want my kids to be able to delete pictures or videos. So what I want to do now is access those folders and make visible to all my users, but that no changes can be made. So when I log back into my dashboard, it doesn’t look like it did when I first set it up. I can see all my folders on my WD Cloud app, on my actual computer desktop program but I am not able to see them in the actual dashboard.

I am also trying to change some options in the dashboard, like remote access, dlna media sharing as well as the share files, I am unable to change any settings AT ALL. I go to turn remote access on, and it just loads, and loads and loads and loads. I am talking 10 minutes of waiting, and nothing happens. And it never saves my settings. Even if it does change it for the moment (like the last time I was in I changed it to read EST and i go in just now and it is back on PST. I am so frustrated, I am not understanding why this isn’t working for me! I am very computer literate and I am the reason they make items like this, but I am having such a difficult time with this device!

Open up the Dashboard and click on the Help icon. Scroll to the bottom and click on number 3, Setting Up Other Users>Change a users access to a share, How To.

I’m trying to apply an update via settings…I can’t get the dashboard to come up at all. Don’t know what changed since last time except for adding “WD Discovery” add on (for a lack of a better term).

Any way to reload or something? I don’t really have anything dedicated on the cloud yet, so deleting and re-downloading could be an option, yeah?

Thanks…

SB  :confounded:

PS: Screen states – “The connection has timed out The server at ‘xxx.xxx.x.xxx’ is taking too long to respond. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.”

Nevermind…I was setting up drive settings in the “WD SmartWare” and there it was – my dashboard! Hopefully I can set a new shortcut or something and get rid of the bad version.

Now if I could just add on a GoogleDrive and a OneDrive account, etc., I’d be golden…

Thanks…

Ummmm… I already know HOW to do it… because I have already done so. My issue is that everything I have already done… added shared folders, are not there!!! They have disappeared!!! What am I not doing… I don’t need a manual. I know and understand how to add users, folders, share, all of that… how do I find the folders I have already made… since they are all gone! How do I access the folders that are now MISSING!

There should be 6 or 7 folders right there. The Add Share files I have made? Where is the Public Folder? The Timemachinefolder (this one I turned off sharing since we don’t have apple, but it should still be there) Where is my folder? I made one for my son, daughter, husband, etc. Where are these folder? Where are all these folders that are in the My Cloud? I need to access them through the dashboard!!!

Your images have not been approved so I can’t see them.

How do I get them approved?

it appears that your shares are there in Windows file explorer and not the mycloud UI.

if this is correct I would try a system only restore, this will not delete shares or data but will remove users and reset the admin password. then re-create the users and permissions in the mycloud

I can see your images now. Earlier I ask what device you are using, meaning, Apple, PC (Windows), etc. Is it a Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, etc.

Have you tried a different browser?  Maybe a reboot before doing any resetting or restoring.

I just went back and looked at your first image. Did anything ever show up in Cloud Devices, Shares or Content Scan? They are all blank in the image. Sometimes the UI is slow to load everything.

Hi, I have the same problem on my MyCloud 2TB. This is occurring since a few weeks and I can not solve the issue. I am very disappointed with this product.

Problem is described as follows:

It looks like after some time from reset the NAS is crashing: the blue LED is flashing like in standby mode, but the hard disk is spinning; folders are accessible from the PC, but dashboard is not working at all and none of the shared folders are visible from the dashboard. Upload of pictures from WD Photo app is also not possible. It is a disaster. Only solution is resetting the NAS with the reset button, but after some hours (max 24 hrs) problem occurrs again.

The feeling I have is like a crash of the NAS

I am usig Windows 7

NAS updated with v04.00.01-623. Problem was happening also with previous fw version.

Please help!!!
