Every time I try to update my My Cloud it states it has been sucessfull but when it has rebooted it is still on the same verstion. Some times it says it has failed and gives me an error code 1003 but most of the times it says it has worked but then is still on the old version. I have tried downloading the deb file and upgrading manually but this does not work and I have also reset the the drive to factory settings both via the web ui and the reset pin.
on 417 want 422.

Try to do a system only restore on the unit to see if this helps you out with this issue, here is a link that might help you out with this process hope this helps:
Hi thanks for your reply. I have done the system only and full restore but all to no avail. I have looked at the update log and it says something about a checksum error. I wanted to post the text of the log here but when I try it is just deleted for some reason? I tried to do it manually and tried to updat to the next sequential firmware but that did not work either. The log also said something about the device being in use but it’s not. I have literally tried every thing other than updating via SSH with I am not able to do as don’t really understand Linux. It’s says the firmware update was successful but after the reboot it’s still on the old version. Tried turning off cloud and sharing that did not work. Tried coping the den file to the MC itself and pointing to that location but nothing works and it refuses to update

Tried it lots of times same error every time. Going to get them to send my a new one cost a £100 which is a lot for me and it has never really worked and I’ve spent hours trying. Was support never ring me back and now I think I have to pay to send it to them. I will also loose my data as don’t have another drive to put it all on. I’m quite upset with WD and they obviously don’t really care
