Can't setup My Book Live

HI all

I’m trying to setup a My Book Live using the software found at WD TV Live

However, the program cannot find the drive. The drive is connected directly to the router and the status LED is solid green. I’m setting this up for my father so I’m not sure if he has used it before or not. Is there a way to get the drive working without losing any data?

I think you better start by connecting the MBL to a stand alone computer only and check the IP address of the MBL. If it is static, the address should be in the range of the DHCP-lease of the router (so check that first!). It is a good idea to have a static IP instead of a dynamic IP in this case, because it is much easier to access the My Book in your network then.
