@Tuecynn What is your User Name. Highlight admin and delete it, enter your User Name, leave Password blank unless you created a password. Press on Enter.
i never changed it from admin… so now i don’t know why i cant get in or how to fix it
yea… i didn’t even set up any other accounts cuz im the only one that uses it
Try this and see if it works, go ahead and highlight the admin that shows up, delete it and then enter admin again, click Enter and see if it signs you in.
nah it didn’t work… i don’t know what else to do
I believe a 40 second reset will reset the user to default (admin) and the password to empty.
FYI. A 4 second reset will reset the admin password to default and the IP network setting to default (auto DHCP). A 40 second reset will reset more than just the administrator password, it generally resets all the options in the My Cloud Dashboard back to default.
How to Reset a My Cloud (single bay) Device
The 4 Second Reset will reset the following:
- Admin Password (No password by default)
- Network Mode (Default = DHCP )
Note: The 4 Second Reset will only reset the Admin Password. It will not reset the Admin User Name. In order to reset the Admin User Name perform Option B - the 40 Second Reset outlined below.
The 40 Second Reset, also known as System Only Restore, will reset the following:
Admin User Name (default = “admin”)
Admin Password (No password by default)
Device Name (default = “WDMyCloud”)
SSH (Secure Shell) on Firmware 04.xx.xx-xxx, User Name and Password (default = "root" and "welc0me")
SSH (Secure Shell) on Firmware 2.xx.xxx, User Name and Password (default = "root" no default password, new password enforced)
Remove all Users except Admin
All Share permissions (default = Public)
Automatic Firmware Update (default = off)
Network Mode (default = DHCP)
Remove all Alerts
mycloud.com account association (default = not configured)
Mobile app account association (default = not configured)
WD Sync association (default = not configured)
Backup jobs (default = not configured)
Safepoint jobs (default = not configured)
Even better, just do a 4 second reset to reset the default user to admin.
